An Invitation to Come Out and Play
Being at home in Marley Park extends beyond your front door. Take an evening stroll with your spouse, an afternoon jog with your neighbor, or weekend bike ride with your family – Marley Park features 12 uniquely themed parks all linked by an Arbor Walk.
Explore the open play areas at Founders Park, the covered picnic area at Bumblebee Park, the performance gazebo at Marley Park, the colored glass decorating Mosaic Park, the beautiful flowers at Rose Garden Park, and the sunken ship playground at Wisdom Park. Each has its own character and charm. Make your way from park to park along the Arbor Walk – a lush pathway of varying types of shade trees, including the signature Arbor Walk tree, the Chinese Elm – connecting Marley Park’s neighborhoods.
At the heart of Marley Park is Heritage Park – a special open space managed by the City of Surprise for use by all Surprise residents. Located between the Heritage Club and the Marley Park Elementary School, the 25-acre park features adventure play areas, lighted baseball fields, an open field, an open-air amphitheater designed to accommodate 1,600 guests, and a rose garden honoring the roots of Marley Park. The park land itself was donated by the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation.
Much of the inspiration for the parks came from the Kemper Marley family that farmed the land for generations growing cotton and a commercial rose garden. Their passion and commitment to this land is expressed throughout Marley Park in the designs and activities.
The Marley Park Community Life Team hosts events at neighborhood parks allowing residents to explore each park in the community.
